1) First, you can elect a better person. But that is not really a fix, is it. Because the next person elected after that might not be "a better person." So, focusing on elections is not the right way to fix things.
2) The real way to fix things is with systemic limits on the power of bad leaders to do bad things. You know, like enacting a limiting constitution, which is not a living breathing document, but a document with real teeth that prevents abuses of powers by bad leaders, and abuses of powers by the majority.
Of course, over time, a nation has to suffer through people like you and the rest of the Left, who chaff at the Constitution holding you back, keeping you from doing all the good you want to do. So, you start talking about the Constitution not really being limiting, but being living and breathing...it blows in the wind, allowing you do what you want with no real limits. But, then, a bad leader gets elected and you fret for the Republic, and scream and cry in the streets. If you really worried about the Republic, you would stop with the "living, breathing Constitution" bullshit, and you would not abuse the Republic by trying to take down a duly elected president merely because you can't wait 4 years for the next election, and you aren't willing to honor/bolster constitutional limits.
The Left created the opportunity for a monster POTUS, so quit your whining.
