So, he did actually ask them to refrain from escalating the situation since Obama was leaving and Trump was coming in. How exactly is this such a big deal?

So, he did remember that he had a follow-up conversation regarding his initial request to not escalate the situation.
The incoming administration wanted the deescalate the situation before they took the official reigns. How did the FBI know he lied... because the used a false narrative to wiretap and overheard the actual conversation.
