For the NBA and NHL, once they finish up their playoffs for this season, they won't be back to business as usual the following year. It will likely take a couple of seasons to get back to their regular FALL-to-SPRING seasons. So it's likely the Summer of 2021 will have NBA and NHL playoffs again, not to mention Summer Olympics and Euro 2021 (both postponed from this summer) too. Regular season baseball in July 2021 will struggle to get interest up against playoffs in other sports. Without having the summer all to itself, baseball will find it tough to get people to notice, especially if they've sat out a whole year.
It's painfully obvious they need to settle up and get back to playing. I just don't get the scorched earth approach.
