Trump and Pence meet with Barr and the FBI director regarding a Biden campaign official talking to China. Pence asks if they can use the Logan Act against the Biden official. But, the FBI director says the calls "appear legit." The FBI agents who interview the campaign official note that he appears to be telling the truth, but then lose their notes. They ask what their goals are, maybe to get the campaign official fired, because there is nothing there? Barr sends an email to himself 2 weeks later, noting that Trump said he wanted everything done "by the book" even though no one contemporaneously noted that. Prosecution moves forward, and even threatens the son of the campaign official. After spending $6.5M on his legal defense and going bankrupt, and losing his job, and facing threats of prosecution of his son, the campaign official enters a plea of guilty for lying to the FBI to stop the suffering.
No problems? Just trying to see what everyone would be comfortable with Trump doing in January if he loses to Biden.
