Although I disagreed with a lot of his politics, it was obvious that he was a genuinely nice guy. He was really a libertarian at heart. Tax reform was his big issue, and was a big supporter of the Fair Tax (eliminating income tax and shifting to sales tax only). That I recall, he never talked about illegal immigration, which was obviously Trump's main issue.
It's unfortunate that he will likely be remembered as much for how he died (following a Trump indoor rally where no Covid safety measures were in place) as how he lived. He was a lot more than that...a very successful and self-made business man and charismatic personality. Another life ruined by Trump's bungling of the pandemic.
