Trump received 70+ million votes. Everyone recognizes that strong show of support.
Yet, the perceived scope of "the divided nation" is far greater than the actual scope of our differences.
Trump ran and governed by dividing us. That style of leadership has a shelf life.
Joe Biden will receive more votes than any candidate for President in US history. There is a reason why church bells rang in Paris upon hearing that "America is back."
Biden will never make it about him. Consistent w/ everything he has said, he will be America's President. "That's the job."
Leadership and tone matter. Over time, people will be less inclined to be divisive. Disagreement and dissent are healthy, but confrontation and obstruction merely for the sake of party loyalty is counterproductive over time.
So stop with the victimization nonsense and the gang warfare rhetoric. It is all in your head.
I get the sense that a segment of those Americans who voted for Trump, were actually relieved when Biden won, especially with the GOP keeping the Senate.
Americans grow weary of the tension, the noise, the stone throwing. Substantive debate and dissent are welcome. There is a difference.
