you somehow...
As I read the linked article, the Merck representative states that "new" verbiage is replacing the "old" in their latest textbook edition...this book is based on medical science, and science does move forward...so it is wholly appropriate for Merck to advise the Florida Department of Health, not to reference their textbook's "old" verbiage in any public communication.
You, and the FLA Dept. of Health may not agree with it, but you and they need to find some other source that has verbiage you agree with if you're going to spread it to the public. Personally, I believe that Merck has gained its outstanding reputation because of its standards and processes for review of the material within the pages of its books...this situation most likely adheres to them...even if you don't agree with what's said.
As for any politicization, I think most folks can see for themselves who is following 'evidence based' medicine...and who isn't.
