We can argue about when and how, but it's a near irrefutable fact that we run out at some point without alternatives.
And increasing costs are the easiest way to reduce consumption, AKA, somewhat delay the inevitable.
But innovation is the way out of it, IMO, rather than shaming people into reducing consumption.
