One of the primary arguments against the new law is that "untrained" people will now be able to carry weapons (even though they could open carry before).
If that is really a concern, I think we should include firearm training standard in high school curriculum. That way, everyone knows how to safely handle a firearm as well as understand their power and risks. It would also reduce the irrational fear of guns that a lot of people seem to have.
