the question shifts to "Should" he. While Ford's pardon of Nixon often comes up, back then there was John Dean's testimony and audio tapes...plus enough GOP Senators who had seen enough and would vote for Impeachment, so the issue was resolved w/o going through a trial over a bungled and covered up political Ops Research effort...no inherent threat intended to our democracy.
This time, IMO it's a very much different ball game...the intent was to trash democracy for the sole purpose of allowing malignant narcissist to remain in power...that kind of behavior by Trump...and his supporting cast...must be crushed so that it never, ever, comes close to happening again...therefore, DJT not only "Should" be indicted, but MUST be.
While Trump looks at TV ratings, the Committee is focused on a much smaller audience.
