Just to put this in context, Ned is an avowed 'Libertarian'...the quintessence of the "ME" mentality

he cannot hear you when you speak of a responsibility to OTHERS...you can yell at him...explain to him...try to reason with him...all to no avail...

That philosophy lives on the political fringe...often far from the co-operative center...

We need to engage him, if only to show others how insensitive he is to the common good.
