I know you are not a fan of it, and are not technically trying to defend it, but this really boils down to bailing out the pampered millennials and gen z kids that took on tremendous debt for majors that were worthless while they lived out of their parents basements and played video games all day/night. Now they are 25-30 years old and are making $15/hr at Starbucks and don't want to pay for their $50,000 art degree. Meanwhile, the real middle class Americans with half an ounce of responsibility worked their butt off and paid for their kids to get through college without stealing money from the other taxpayers.
