1) Tesla is at or near "best in class" - and these cars that you cite require significantly higher price tags, do they not?
2) The govt is sponsoring the "worst in class" at the moment.
3) Warranties are calculated to cover the price point beyond which the company starts to lose money on the deal. Initially, I just Google'd the lifespan of the batteries. But even the numbers you explain here are a lot less than the mileage lifespan of an old gas car (Tesla being the exception).
Your numbers would indicate that for GM's, Fords, Rivians, and I assume others, the car is more expensive and the lifespan is shorter - at least at this point. I have heard the argument now that the EV's are not much more than normal gas cars, but that is due to the intentional elevation in price of gas cars. Same is true for gasoline - whose price was unnecessarily elevated to push the changeover that Biden Admin wants.
4)Another question i have is what does it cost in electricity as compared to gasoline for the same mileage? (I am not asking, but am noting that we will require brown outs to cover the increased demand on our grid from this which will be a whole other cost/problem of giant magnitude).
I respect your answers as I have no problem with EV's other than their price and the forcing of it upon us, and the grid issue. Are these assumptions true?
