Tesla fires are much rarer than fires in gasoline based vehicles. (I can’t locate the stats, but it is on the order of 100 times less likely,)

Yes, Lithium Ion battery packs once ignited do burn hotter and for a longer period of time compared to gas vehicles which tend to explode. It requires a different approach by first responders. (Eg. More water for longer. Some techniques like smothering blankets don’t work, etc.)

Your much safer in a Tesla wreck than a gas based vehicle.
