This is in process right now. They postponed their decision until after the midterms.
Will be interesting to see how they enforce that.
Strangely, it seems that they are going after weapons that are supposedly too short, but not used by criminals, while ignoring even shorter firearms that are much more likely to be used in urban crimes. Totally arbitrary...that is, if you assume their intentions are altruistic.
I said "strangely," but I guess it is not so strange, is it? They don't want to confiscate firearms from inner cities. They want to get guns from statistically more Republicans groups. Things are not looking good for political freedom.
