The backcourt is so young, so there is no elder statesman to mentor him, and no experienced depth. Really need another of the freshmen guards, either Shrewsberry or Imes, to be ready, too. Burton doesn't need to be a showstopper right away, just be able to break pressure, not make silly high school passes, and play solid defense and not be overpowered.
I think this team may surprise. You will see the much greater attention to detail by the staff translate to the court. The most telling moment so far was Matt Zona carefully and gently explaining how no one on the team can now make mistakes in practice without a coach correcting him.
