I have been involved in officiating for decades. I am at most "tryout days" in New England region for men's hoops. The people we do not take move on to try out for women's officiating. Most cannot truly ref a men's league at the local "Y". Thus, the dilemma of women's hoops. The refs are weak, have bad foul recognition, and just try to look pretty. The female refs, many are moved ahead too fast and no ready for the levels they are doing. Referring in WBB is brutal in 60% of cases.
