Pass plays all were deep crossing routes or curls or streaks or posts.. The game plan did not involve anything underneath, or at least it didn't look like it from the stands where I sat (and I watched the WR routes). Pass protection was crap, and Kizer didn't really have the time to let the deep routes develop. I blamed Kizer's poor performance in that game on poor coaching and stubbornness on Kelly's part -- the offensive line was not pass protecting, but Kelly insisted on running plays that required pass protection. Throwing in a hurricane shows the same stubbornness and inability (or unwillingness) to adapt..
I think Kizer will be a good NFL QB. In the ideal world, for him, he would get drafted by Green Bay or New England and then sit for a couple of years. That's how Aaron Rodgers developed.
