Although the way Kelly handled the quarterback competition with Zaire probably played a big part in that in the preseason.
But, I think with Wimbush looming, he was leaving whether they were 4-8, 8-4, or 11-1. Matter of fact, something like 4-8 is the only way he considers staying, just because it's hard to sell yourself with that record, as Kizer is finding out now.
I could be wrong though, that's just my read of it.
