He's a pretty good QB with the potential to be great. Kelly was right, he could have used another year to clean up his game after he got thrown into being a starter before he was ready. He has just about perfect size, good, but not great mobility and arm talent. He doesn't tuck and run at the first sign of pressure, which fits the pro game very well. His downside in draft season, his confidence, is a plus as is his composure. Downside, his mechanics are inconsistent and he's maybe too composed and could use a higher sense of urgency. Also, his reads are sometimes a little slow. Best case scenario, he goes to a team like Arizona or Pittsburgh that has a good, but aging starter and a lot of talent and then sits for a year or two honing his craft. None of the QB's this year are sure things, but the guys taken in the first are going to be looked at as saviors...and I doubt they'll be up to the task initially, the same as Kizer. If you aren't looking for a day one starter, he's as good a choice as any of the QB's in the draft. Worth a first round pick? No. But he's a solid second to third round guy who could develop into a very good QB in the pros. The best thing that could happen to him in some respects (not money) would be to last until the third or fourth to put a chip on his shoulder and help instill that drive that the best QB's seem to have.
