I thought it was that the NCAA considered the student trainer/ intern a staff member, even tho she wasn't an employee (but may have received credit for intern work). In other words lack of institutional control. Turns out the big issue may be the quick timing of our discipline, which caused grade readjustments for those involved which caused them to be retroactively ineligible for 2012-13. This could have been deferred to later (less successful) years if we dragged our feet like others have done. So we get punished for due diligence, which is exactly the message the NCAA doesn't want sent.
