But this year was a turnaround only in record and on defense. For the past 4 seasons ND has lost key games in November dashing the hopes of making it to the CFP.
I won't argue that Kelly recruits well. He does. I won't argue that Kelly hired some good coaches in the offseason. He did. But you can't argue with facts. The fact that ND has collapsed every November for the past 4 year is a major concern. Kelly himself has openly stated that there is nothing to play for outside of a National Championship. He got there in 2012 but arguably didn't deserve to be there. If the team had made the CFP at least once, or won at least one BCS game or won it all in 2012, my tune would be much different. Instead, ND got embarrassed by Bama in 2012, beat handily in the Fiesta Bowl and lost in November every year of the CFP era so far. Kelly has failed to win the big games in 8 years of trying.
I prefer not to go through a coaching change. I like the stability of the program. But ... Kelly has proven over 8 years he can't win the big game. 8 years!
