I`m talking about overall toughness, accountability, wanting to knock someone on their ass and then spit in their face when they`re down. If I remember correctly, a lot of you guys thought McGlinchy and in some cases the whole OL was overrated and not from just one block/game; but multiple games. I`m not putting it on the kids, they`re very talented. It starts with Brian Kelly attitude, accountability, intensity, drive, motivation and taking pride on 4th and 1 and goal line situations. Having an attitude would trickle down to the other coach`s..
When these guys get their asses kicked, there never seems to be any accountability or responsibility some of them are pampered. When Holtz was HC, and the guys whiffed, you`d see him in Joe Moore`s face and a near fist fight would break out on the sidelines between the two! Those teams were motivated and it started with the OL. I think McGlinchy is good, although I think Aaron Taylor would kick his ass nine ways of Sunday. I know times have changed and Joe Moore and Holtz would probably be facing lawsuits if they pulled the shit they did back then on those players; i,e face mask pulling, spitting in faces, yelling, etc., But the motivation and intensity is certainly lacking at ND these days.
