track record of shitting the bed, I will stay reserved until proven otherwise because ND has been the newest team to "Clemson" things. I like what we've seen the last two weeks. I'm even ecstatic in my own head about it. I hope it's the new normal and we've FINALLY turned the corner.
But, I'm still in prove it to me mode. I believe we have (and have had) the talent to compete and win on a weekly basis. We now have the talent in the right places to do so. The talent we have has proven they can execute against a broad range of opponents. Having said that, we still have Brian Kelly and he is an X-factor; not in a good way.
I'm not trying to dog Kelly and I'm not calling for his head. But, in his 7 full years with ND he has proven on an annual basis that he alone can F#&K up at least 2 if not 3 games a season; if you let his decisions go uncontested. I'm not exaggerating, or making things up. You can go back annually and pick key games that Brian Kelly has been the sole determining factor in a loss that should have easily been a win; or in a number of cases was a win until he started his meddling.
When we make it through the season without the types of mismanagement we've become immune to, I'll get real excited.
