Notre Dame finally has the depth (but not in all positions) so player rotation along with getting the 2’s and 3’s experience over the rest of the season will be critical. Obviously this all depends upon the 1st team starting the game strong getting out to a lead and allowing the back ups not only to play and get experience but limiting the 1st team’s chances for injuries. This is why Alabama is always fresh at the end of the year! This starts with the team not playing down to the level of its opponent and putting them away earlier, not like Vanderbilt and Ball State earlier this year. Dare I say it but the ND starters should not be playing past 1 series in the 3rd quarter against Pitt today if things are going as a CFB playoff team should. The Alabama starting QB has not taken a snap in the 4Q of any of their games this year, now maybe that has something to do with the piss poor schedule they have to start the season, but other then the 3 teams we played who were ranked, our Starting QB should have not had to play in the 4Q against Vanderbilt, Ball State or Wake Forest. Let’s see if Kelly has the team prepared and focused for the second half run and Book’s play can lead to the 2’s and 3’s seeing the field.
