what are the alternatives? Every year I watch the academies and other smaller MAC schools compete against larger and stronger defenses. So the blocking schemes are important to establishing a running game with quick hitters, or draws and to keep Book from getting hammered on passing plays. Sometimes you have to understand you are a year or two away. But hopefully, they will, for the first time in many years, understand that the current talent and experience doesn't exist and come up with new blocking schemes to offset the weakness. We will see. Most smaller less talented school and their coaches understand their weaknesses, Kelly and his coaches don't seem to respond well in covering those weaknesses. If every team stacks the box to close down the run and pressure Book, what will be their response? Judging from the last game I'm not convinced they have a solution.
