I called it in February 2017:
"Looking back at 2016, Notre Dame played absolutely abysmal football - and yet all but one loss was by no more than one score. Had this team had any kind of competency (mainly coaching but also from inexperienced players), it could easily have been 11-0 heading into the USC game.
Taking the scheduling and injuries out of the equation for the moment, the 2017 should be vastly improved. I previously thought Kelly had reached is ceiling as a coach, but the fact that he's willing to bring so many new voices to the team is a great sign. I would go so far to say that if I'm right about that, this team has the potential to run the table. Not likely, but as we sit here in February I think it's a legitimate possibility.
So for all you Negative Nellies who say the culture of ND won't allow them to be great anymore, or that we can't get the necessary recruits, or that we don't have the facilities, coaches, etc., I say you're wrong. I think 2017 will be the start of a great era of ND football."
