Kelly did not have his team ready for this game, again.
Ian Book fumble in the 1st quarter was the beginning to the downfall of the game. Do not rationalize or justify with dumb analysis.
Ian Book is a 3rd stringer on any of the big teams in the CFP and in the top 10.
Slow average receivers.
Another O-Line that was out matched. ND had 2 drives in the first half for more than 30 yards.
No depth at D. J. Love is out and they get exposed. Championship teams have depth.
Coaching: The decision to go for it on 4th and 3 in the first quarter says it all. The next doozy was the run the ball on 3rd and 10 with an outmatched O line. Those are typical Kelly and staff calls.
I said this years ago and I'll say it again. Kelly is a great story at Grand Valley State. Brian Kelly is not a big time program coach nor is Notre Dame a big time program anymore. Notre Dame football is dead and not coming back because college football has changed and ND has been unwilling to change. 25 years have passed since ND football has been truly competitive for a national title.
You can chose to live in the now or live in the past. Willingness to accept what is given to you is the key.
