Even though we got blown out... again... and it likely will require us to win 24 straight before getting another possible chance. There are a few positives to take from 2018.
1. Brian Kelly has turned the program around and there is talent all over the board... He just needs to continue to do as he did in 2018, remove his preference of people and let the real players play.
2. We've been to a title game and playoff twice in the last 6 seasons. Not many schools can say this and ND hasn't even come close to sniffing a title game since 1993... or for 19 years prior to 2012.
3. We went from only winning 4 games to back to back 10+ win seasons. When was the last time ND won back to back 10+ games in a season? Decades ago it seems.
4. Recruiting has been very good and consistent for some time. We just need to find serious depth and an OL coach. DL is competitive, the OL is putrid (not looking at talent, just production against quality opponents).
5. It's taken time but there is a solid foundation in place. Building in a few more 10 win seasons will go a long way.
6. No one actually believed this team would go to the playoffs at the beginning of the season.
I hate on BK a lot and he has many flaws, BUT he's done a really good job in building the program. It's had many more bumps than one would expect but there has been significant progress. Getting over the next hurdle will require BK letting the best talent play and play early while building depth. If he can get a killer instinct it will go a long way.
