...but even with the departure of Urban Meyer at tOSU, I still don't see it happening. Ryan Day would be a fool to let him go.
No matter who ND decides to hire as the new RB Coach, they need to do a hell of a better job recruiting then Denson did. I appreciate everything Autry Denson has done for ND, but none of the top highschool RBs even gave Denson/ND a sniff. You go to a website like Scout/247, many of the top prospects weren't even considering ND. I remember not too long ago prospects would list ND as a possibility even if they had no intention of going to school in South Bend. Now we don't even get that.
RB is a position that greatly concerns me for 2019 & beyond. Jafar Armstrong might be the most talented, but no way is he going to hold up an entire season taking a beating as ND's main RB. He couldn't even stay healthy as a backup in 2018. He is more of a hybrid player that can line up at RB or WR (and that's the best place for his to excel)
So who's left?
Tony Jones
Jahmir Smith
C'Bo Fleimester
Kyren Williams
ND wants to sustain the success of the running game of the past 2 seasons or take the next step? Sorry, just can't see it with this group.
