There aren't a lot of strong programs overall that happen to needs a quick one year fix at QB to get to a certain level. UCLA, for one example, with Kelly only in his 2nd year is better off playing a qb who is going to be around in 2020 (and beyond) than playing a guy like Wimbush. Hurts has the same issue even if he would appear to have more cred than WImbush. That sort of limits the places Wimbush might be wanted and I assume he picked a place that suited his overall needs. Being in Florida for a year (and perhaps beyond depending on how long it takes to earn the degree he is seeming) certainly lets him thaw out after 4 years in South Bend
I would think that these 5th year transfer qbs best fit serving as a team leader and helping a new coach install a new offense ala Andrew Hendrick who followed Chuck Martin to Miami than actually helping an established coach win something in one year.
