I think the alleged conundrum about guys sitting out meaningless bowl games to protect their potential future income vs sucking it one more time for an organization which has made loads of money is part of the ongoing farce about what big time college football has become. There are only 3 post season games that have any meaning and the rest are exhibitions stage for the television networks that are generally less than 50% full. Even the most rabid fan base doesn't want to spend $150 per seat to sit where you need oxygen after a trip to the bathroom.
When this started in the last few years it was much hand-ringing by the talking (empty ) heads sports guys about how awful it was and how the pro scouts would downgrade guys re: character. Now it barely merits a mention.
