never got much of a chance with the Steelers after Bradshaw got there. The fans in Pittsburgh loved him and I remember one sign in the stands that said Terry number 2 we still want you. Joe Theismann was the best however. Absolutely superb leader one of the strongest arms that even OJ who hated ND guys, on Monday night football said was a gun. Plus he had great, great escapability. After that Clements was solid and respected as a quiet leader but I think Book has more ability. Everyone forgets Steve Beuerlein who had a decent pro career even though he was blackballed by renowned ND hater, Al Davis. Troy Aikman often said there was absolutely no drop off between he and Steve Beuerlein. He was not real mobile but was tough and had a very accurate arm. Clausen was absolutely the most accurate passer ND had IMO. Jarious Jackson was a great athlete, tough as nails and was a pretty solid passer with good running ability. Powlus was not bad despite lack of mobility and who knows how his career would have gone if ND did not lose to Michigan in 1994 on a last second field goal after Lee Becton lost two fumbles in that game. Mirer was very talented and had a long though not brilliant career in the NFL that might have been better had he not lost his coaching mentor in the pros after a top three finish in the offensive rookie of the year his first year.
I know I am forgetting somebody.
