ND is rightly known as " Tight End U " and lately it could also be called " OL U "; however, one thing ND is not known as, is " QB U."
It is the Bermuda Triangle for QBs. No QB has prospered under Kelly, as he enters his 10th season.
How sad and pathetic it is to watch the post-game interview with Phil Jurkovec. As the article says, "...Jurkovec spent the bulk of his interview beating himself up and allowing the questions to beat him down." Also, the article quotes Kelly as saying this about Jurkovec: " He never played like that in high school. He made it simple. He's made this game way too hard."
No, Brian Kelly, you have made it way too hard. You are micro-managing him to death with your " mechanics " and constant " tweaking " of his throwing motion. In less than a year, he's a mess, thanks to you.
Other schools " plug and play " elite QBs: Tua at Bama; Fromm at Georgia; and Lawrence at Clemson. The QBs are not put through grueling, brain surgery apprenticeships, that sap and confuse them, to the point of hopelessness. There is no way that Jurkovec would be the mess that he is if he went to any of the aforementioned schools.
How sad it is too see such a talented QB as Phil Jurkovec unravel at the hands of such an incompetent head coach.
