He's not at the top of the pyramid, since that space is occupied by coaches the likes of Nick Saban and Dabo Swinney, but aside from that disastrous 2016 season, he's been on a pretty good consistent roll, and I see no reason why 2019 shouldn't be at least in that ballpark either. We're consistently getting quality talent, and developing them decently.
I honestly believe that he's finally evolved into the coach that we had hoped he would become, that he finally realized the limitations of people who were holding back this program (Van Gorder, Longo), and made some excellent choices in replacing them.
We're not at the point where we would be on relatively equal footing as the Crimson Tide or the Tigers, but if we can sustain this level of success, then the best recruits will give us a more serious look. It's going to take at least a couple more years, though.
