Part of it was them “peaking” into the backfield and they got a little undisciplined. At half time that’s what I heard Kelly getting on them about. In the second half, they adjusted to play them more straight up and also stayed disciplined. Probably a good game plan by UVA too to not run him a lot (because it’s the opposite of what ND was expecting).
Plus, their WRs just made some great catches.
On a related note. I think all year Okwara was pressing to much and was focused on a personal sack goal. That leads to undisciplined and poor results. In the second half, he just trusted the scheme and the results came. Hopefully he learned a lesson.
