First, he's very good and in my opinion the best of the three corners we had committed. I like Barnes a lot and Chance Tucker has really good measureables, but Riley is proven against really good talent. Losing the best corner on your board is a big deal, especially so since it looks like he's headed to USC.
That said, given what we've seen from Clarence Lewis, Cam Hart, TaRiq Bracy, the potential of Offord and Henderson, plus the versatility of Styles moving over there, and Barnes/Tucker in fold, I feel a lot better about the position overall than I did 2-3 months ago. Notre Dame has a good roster of corners lessening the blow of losing out on a talent like Riley. It'll look very unfortunate if he turns out to be a star, but that's out of Notre Dame's control. For their part, they are building a solid bunch of talent.
As an aside, it's funny that Riley was the silver lining commitment on the day Shipley committed to Clemson and Colzie was the decommitment that seemingly sent recruiting into a tailspin, and now it looks like he'll rejoin the class. Wild cycle.
