in the BCS/playoff type games doesn’t cut it and it’s been a pattern. This wasn’t even one of the better Bama defenses. We had the most experienced line in the nation but our best RB could only get 60 yards. Look what Sermon from Ohio St did last night against Clemson. There is something schematically not working. I agree Book has his limitations but I’m not convinced the results would be much different with a different QB due to Kelly’s system. I look at the NFL littered with offensive players that start and wonder why these guys weren’t more successful at ND and I keep coming back to the one constant over the years and it’s Kelly. He’s done some good things in terms of making the program relevant again and should get credit for that. He also owns the blowout losses at the biggest moments and that monkey will be on his back until he shows otherwise. It’s ND and if he can’t recruit perimeter speed or a great QB then he needs to go.
