reconcilable) DC at a prominent SEC school and his unknown lieutenant, elevated to DC at ND, is now a HC in the SEC. A successful tenure at ND, however short, can get Freeman HC opportunities better than Cincinnati ... or Illinois. Given that black HCs make up about 10% of the total in the FBS where about half the players are black, if that happens that's a gain for ND, for the sport of college football and for society as a whole. (I should also note, that Freeman is not just African American, he's Asian American, his mother being Korean.)
