But this is a BK team and what appears to be isn't where he usually goes with employing young talent (or talent). PJ for one example of a talent not being given any opportunity,
then there's Michael Mayer this past season given all opportunities not only in non-critical spots in a game but in very crucial spots and in crucial games as a true freshman - so too
with Chris Tyree - Johnson, not so much.
It's difficult to know the true thinking behind Kelly's moves but it's also easy to say, very perplexing. But then, if a coach doesn't have a strong armed QB at the helm, why would
he need to practice-up deep ball threats when they cannot be reached? So don't give the guy with the strong arm an opportunity so he'll either transfer (PJ) or just not show up
then your reason for using those other talents is nonexistent.
I don't make any bones about it, I've never really like Kelly's ways or him as a coach. He does know how to do the job but to me, there's something else going on in his head
and it likely has to do with control - Tommy Rees is a perfect example. Tulsa is another perfect example.
It's a constant WTF with Kelly and 2021 will be no different. Sorry to step on your carton of eggs.
