ND's win over Clemson was widely credited as a great win for the team and the program. It was not just fan board masturbation. I don't know why people have to shoe horn stories into narratives. The Clemson win was considered a great win at the time. If we want to talk about message boards: that was the principal source of the counter-narrative. The Whatsamatta-type crowd was quick to downplay it. As always, I'm just trying to have an honest discussion here.
