ability to read a defense, see where the ball needs to go and get them the ball accurately and on time will let the dynamic playmakers make plays. If they let him get up under center, I think it might help the run game to give the backs a bit of a head start to hit the line and I think he will effectively utilize play action with a strong running game. His deep ball has an altogether different trajectory than Book's and I think it will be effective and feared if Lenzy, Austin and company can stay healthy. And he has functional speed to scramble for 10 yards if the D doesn't respect it. I think he's going to do really well. I think we'd have been way better off with him than Book in the last two games against Clemson and Alabama. They made Book a pocket QB and he couldn't handle it. Coan would have done better in that situation. And for that reason, I think if we make it back to the playoffs, I think he'll do fine.
All that said, I'd love a limited package of plays for Buchner to run out of the pistol. Give the D something to prepare for and let him be an x-factor and get him ready and comfortable for next season.
