the last two years. They're not going to be able to finance the athletic arms race for very much longer. Keep in mind unis' profit centers are found in on campus housing and meal plans, both of which were eviscerated due to shut downs. Oregon has been lying for years about the financial efficacy of their athletic program, using academic side subsidization to keep things hidden. And that's suppose to be a college sports success story. Research what's been going on at Oklahoma and LSU. A few years ago, Okie's Pres said the school has a billion dollars in debt that he couldn't pay debt service. LSU was going to shut down academic programs because LA was in so much financial trouble, the state couldn't continue to fund the school as the same previous rate. What do you think is occurring at the Iowa States, Rutgers, and CALs of the world? Enrollment is falling because the schools have priced themselves out of the market.
All this bullshit coming from the schools is an attempt to divert attention from the obvious. USAAmerica is still in a financial depression, colleges have WAY too much debt, they can no longer fund both academics and ADs, and many are facing bk. Fuck em. they've become nothing but loan mills and boiler room operations that prey on stupid teenagers and their equally dumb parents, except more people are finally waking up...
