Money doesn’t just talk, it also pounds the living fuck out of ‘tradition’. All that is solid melts into air. As Marx said in one of his better moments. All who have must acquire more, and the pressure to be economically productive is going to reduce the non-big time programs to, essentially, club sports. And those left standing are going to be pulled from association with their ‘schools’ by a myriad of pressures. Just watch what the successors of Jenkins and Jack Swarbrick will have to do to ND and its traditions with football.
College and high school football have been the only sports i ever really cared about all my life. And I am afraid both are going to be unrecognizable very soon.
