to them and the university has banked some loyalty capital in my book. I will give him every benefit of the doubt because of the character he showed on that day. He was loyal to us.... I owe that same loyalty to him. I think you can explain much of the offensive woes because of
A) hostile environment and big game pressure
B) a talented and tough OSU Def
C) poor field position over and over again
D) Buchner's first start and his need to get better in the passing game
E) Patterson not being at Guard - the OSU def continually exploited that position with pressure blowing up plays all day
F) lack of playmakers at WR
G) then maybe you can talk about the offensive game plan but again, you had all of the previous issues to contend with that dictated the game plan.
But it is funny that the announcers were talking about the "great game plan" when Buchner was 7-7 passing to start the game. Even though he was missing receivers and they had to make great catches often. OSU eventually figured out that sending a LB through Patterson's vacant Guard position would destroy any play we called. What do you call when the guard double team blocks and never gets off the block to get the stunt or LB blitz running through your gap? It killed us all day.
