Infectious. I don’t think he’s as good as Book was, but he seems to have that level of grit and passion that makes others rally behind him. Book definitely had it. It was his greatest gift. The one 90% of people couldn’t see.
That is a talent you can’t coach or teach. It’s an intangible that doesn’t show up on paper, height charts, the weight room, arm strength, or 40 times. BUT it absolutely is what makes a team gel. What makes offenses move the chains and defenses bend but don’t break.
It’s a natural born leader and Notre Dame is missing that level of charismatic leader on the field and it shows.
You can throw all the bullshit stars, accolades, and “eye test” out the window when it comes to this. You are born with it or your not. Pyne has it and you won’t find it on the stat sheet. But it’s a talent we need and one sorely overlooked.
