There were no running lanes open, and pass protection was terrible. It really didn't matter who would have been at the QB position; he would still have gotten crushed.
It took us 3 games for the line to gel together, and I think that what we saw today can be more of the norm. We have three excellent running backs ready to play, and there certainly looks like there's some skill at the wideouts, even if developed depth is a bit short. Even with Baumann gone for the year, there's still plenty of tight end talent after Mayer.
It's just a shame that it cost us our starting QB in the meantime. Those losses were actually quite winnable.
Still, better late than never.
