The offensive line wasn't opening up running lanes, and stank at pass protection, which ended up killing Buchner's season. Even against bad defenses, a terrible offensive line will cost you the game, since they can make a 2 star linebacker look like the next coming of Lawrence Taylor.
This was the first game where they actually played like a real cohesive unit.
It's no secret that this year, we basically have to use the running game to setup the passing game. We don't have a seasoned quarterback who can pull rabbits out of his hat the way Coan or Book did in the last two years. Those QB's actually did a nice job of helping minimize the O-line's weaknesses.
Yesterday was the first time the O-line wasn't a glaring weakness, and that they could be the basis for building up the offense.
