One step at a time

Things fell in place yesterday, where the offensive line played like a solid unit, opened up running lanes nicely, and gave excellent pass protection.

That, plus I agree that Tommy Rees called one of his better games.

Still, it's early in the season, and while two games of improvement make things a lot more encouraging than what we were feeling two weeks ago at this time, we're going to have to keep taking a lot more big steps if we want to take on the big boys on the schedule. It's one thing to beat up a UNC defense that flat-out stinks, but facing USC and Clemson is going to require a good bit more progress.

  • Rees called a good game. Still not sure I feel confident about our offense though we're improving. [NT] - faircatchcorby - 8:56pm 9/25/22 (6) [View All]
    • If we get past BYU with the Oline playing well and running the ball effectively, - NDavenue - 6:37am 9/26/22
      • Agreed. The team's offensive success (and Pyne's) depends very largely on the OL and running game. [NT] - tky21 - 7:02am 9/26/22
        • Offensive success is going to depend on being able to run AND pass. Unless you are Alabama ... - GaSubwayIrish - 3:31pm 9/26/22
    • The offense will continue to be good so long as the OL can block like they have the last 6 quarters. - tky21 - 9:55pm 9/25/22
    • The offense will improve a lot with the play of Pyne. But Rees has to keep up his end and game plan - oldirish - 9:37pm 9/25/22
