physical talents necessary to back it up. That much we know for certain after this season.
Angeli was a 4* on some services but a 3* on some services as well. We haven't seen him so we don't know of his abilities.
Buchner was the legit high 4* (#70-ish recruit in the country with a .96-.97 recruiting grade. But he was used as a running back last year and got damn near killed his first two games this year behind an atrocious offensive line and before the receivers developed. I am fine with him as the starter next year if that would happen as I think he'd hit his stride after a couple real games of live experience existing in a decent pocket and making reads and throws. He is developable into something pretty special in my view.
So, the QB room this season was basically a freshman, a guy that wasn't ever going to be a good FBS QB at a program like ND and a guy that had no experience as the QB1. That is not a good QB room. Last year, we needed to take a transfer. So, yeah, recruiting under Kelly was a problem.
Development has been a problem as well. These problems go far beyond our QB room this year. This is a long-standing problem under Kelly.
